Katie Benner is an American reporter for The New York Times covering the U.s.a. Department of Justice.

Early life and education [edit]

Benner grew upward in Vermont and was an English major at Bowdoin College, in Maine.[1] Afterward graduating in 1999 with "zero idea" about a career plan, she moved to Beijing to teach English language.[2] While there, she wrote freelance for the Beijing Review,[1] a media outlet designated equally a foreign mission past the State Department,[3] about everything from monks to music.[4] In the wake of the September xi attacks, she began collecting information on how the event afflicted American expatriates.
